WHAT NOW? WE’RE BACK!
Session met on Wednesday, April 29, and decided that we will resume our normal Worship schedule on Sunday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m. We may serve communion then, using packaged, “pre-filled communion cups with wafers,” if our order arrives in time. We plan to meet in the sanctuary, but will continue to practice social distancing, forgo our traditional greeting time, and take the offering with a plate left at the back of the sanctuary rather than passed during the service. We understand that there may still be some who cannot venture out, but the LORD willing, our ministry will continue to offer live worship on site.
Adult Sunday School will also resume on May 3 at 9:30 a.m.
END TIMES BIBLE STUDY
The LORD willing, we will resume our interrupted Bible study for youth and adults on the Book of Revelation this coming Monday, May 4th, at 7:15 p.m. Tentative schedule will be May 4 – Revelation 15 (short chapter) and an introduction to the final events preceding the Second Coming of Christ. The following Monday evenings would then be on the subsequent chapters, with the exception of Memorial Day. (We may decide to meet Tuesday evening that week.) We plan to continue “social distancing” by meeting in the Fellowship Hall at spaced intervals, with a microphone for the speaker. As at all our events right now, masks are encouraged.
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
The Jackson County Ministerial Alliance will have a National Day of Prayer event on Thursday, May 7, at the Courthouse at noon. People will be asked to park in the back parking lot facing the courthouse building, and stay in their cars. The prayer time will be broadcast on FM radio (the station number will be posted at the event).
There will be a congregational meeting on Sunday, May 17, following worship to elect 2 elders to the class of 2023. They will be installed on May 31st.
